VALENTINE FUDGE

Valentine’s Day has never been my favorite until I was grown. It is amazing to celebrate love and affection for your loved ones. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there truly is no better way to express your love than with a homemade sweet treat!

Last year, I did not spend time in the kitchen for Valentine’s Day. I felt different, and I didn’t feel that I was creating a cute atmosphere. I believe I was feeling that way was because it is not my love language. My love language is creating something for my loved ones!

So this year, I decided to keep it simple. No: I do not plan to make a lobster dinner. No: I do not plan on spending hours in the kitchen. We all have a life! But I wanted to symbolize my love with effort but in creation form!

This year, I decided to make a quick and easy Fudge. Here is why I did that this year:

  1. All my loved ones love fudge!
  2. You can put it together so quickly.
  3. It is cheap.
  4. You can substitute what flavor you would like to do.
  5. It’s seriously cute!
  6. It only takes three ingredients!

Obviously, when you look at this list, it is an obvious yes to making this sweet and simple creation. Let me tell you how to create a simple creation like this:

INGREDIENTS:

  1. 2 16 oz cans of frosting (I did cherry this time, but I love chocolate, vanilla and strawberry! I hope to do birthday cake soon.)
  2. 24 oz white chocolate chips
  3. Sprinkles!

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Line a 9×13 pan with foil, spray with cooking spray to make sure the fudge does not stick to the foil.
  2. Put the white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Place in the microwave until fully melted. (TIP: Only heat in increments to avoid burning and splatter.)
  3. While that is melting in the microwave, scoop your frosting into a kitchen aid or a large bowl. Stir the frosting until the chocolate chips are completely melted.
  4. Pour the chocolate chips into the frosting mixture, and mix together until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared foiled pan.
  6. Use a spatula or a spoon to evenly spread the fudge mixture. Sprinkle the sprinkles on at this point.
  7. Place in the fridge for at least two hours to fully set before serving!

There are so many ingredients you can add or take out. You could add sweetened condensed milk, butter, vanilla, or even chopped dried cherries or fruit of your choice! My favorite to do is making my homemade cream cheese frosting and adding my own flavoring, it is so yummy!

These are my favorite recipes to make, the ones that you can make your own.

Although this is probably the world’s easiest recipe, I wanted to show you that simplicity is still key and the best thing sometimes!

I am a firm believer that homemade treats, especially those crafted with love for these special occasions, hold a unique significance. In a world filled with store-bought confections, the act of creating something from scratch adds the best personal touch that goes beyond the treats themselves.

As I was reflecting, I would rather experience the joy of seeing someone reflect the time, effort, and thoughtfulness in a simple recipe rather than a restaurant dinner.

It’s warming to know that someone wanted to make a homemade gift. This Valentine’s Day, maybe try this route and put some time in the kitchen. In this case of Cherry Fudge, each bite becomes a sweet reminder of the effort put into creating a memorable experience.
