Can of Cinnamon Rolls – The shining factor for this recipe is the humble can of cinnamon rolls. Personally, I love cinnamon rolls in a can. But you are more than capable of making your own cinnamon rolls, the only thing you need to do is create your own icing for this recipe!
I do not have a favorite brand of cinnamon rolls, so I normally purchase the off-brand can of cinnamon rolls. But if you do have your favorite brand or want to try a specialty flavor, please do it! The beauty of this recipe is the overall flexibility you have with it. You can make it your own.
In my opinion, the overall beauty of this recipe is the convenience. The premade dough is infused with cinnamon and sugar, which provides the perfect foundation for the cobbler.
Apple Filling – Like I just said, you can be flexible with this recipe. It doesn’t have to be apple filling. You can substitute it with blueberry, peach, or even cherry filling! You can also create your own filling, it really isn’t hard! It’s just the process of combining sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and a touch of lemon juice. But again, the beauty of this recipe lies in the convenience.
But don’t cheap out on this step! If you are doing an apple filling, the apples add a burst of fruity flavor and a hint of tartness that perfectly balances the sweetness of the cinnamon rolls.
